I come from a long line of storytellers. It’s a big tradition in all my family – my Mom, my Dad, my mom’s Mom and Dad, and my dad’s Dad and Mom, all alike. Whenever we got together, especially around the dinner table, we would always share some kind of story for everyone to enjoy, even if we were just listening to the adults. The stories were of all kinds, recent happenings, old accounts from their personal lives, older accounts from before their time, even fables of things that never were. A few years ago, around Christmastime, I decided to take some of the best stories of my grandparents and write them all down in a book, to preserve for future generations. It was a project the likes of which no other person had ever embarked upon – interviewing both my grandmothers, and both my grandfathers, and bringing their tales together in one book.
